MIKE NEELY— Senior Pastor
Mike was born and raised on a Pinto Bean farm in Southwest Colorado – but not in the barn, even though his mother often asked him if he was. His biblical studies started under his missionary mother’s faithful tutelage and continued at Western Bible College in Denver and Moody Graduate School, but the training he most values has been received from mentors who love God’s Word enough to teach and live it faithfully. He has been Senior Pastor of Evangelical Free Churches in Aurora, Columbus and Grand Island Nebraska during the last 27 years. He is married to his high-school sweetheart, Mickee, and has three adult children and an eleven year old daughter, Katee. Their family has been stretched to include various foster children and their extended families. Mike loves spending time in God’s cathedral of creation for soul-refreshment and joining those who view the racquetball court as a modern arena for gladiators.

BRUCE HIBBARD — Youth Pastor
I was born and raised in Hudson, WI and graduated from Hudson High School in 1972. I attended UW-Eau Claire and received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1976, going on to teach music and coach basketball in a public school for three years. I then attended Bethel Seminary from 1979 to 1983 and received a Master of Divinity Degree with a Youth Emphasis, and then worked as an Associate Pastor from 1983 to 1985 at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Albuquerque, NM. I became Youth Pastor at South Suburban and worked on staff from 1985-1998. In 1998, I became Director of Shamineau International, working with English Language Camps overseas, and continue that ministry today. In 2010, I returned to SSEFC in a part-time position as interim Youth Pastor at South Suburban.
I have been married to Linda (Smyth) since 1977.

JEFF LARSON — Children's Pastor
I was born and raised in Rockford, IL. I moved to the Twin Cities area attending Bethel College. I graduated in 1999 with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Pre-Kindergarten minor. My wife, Joy, and I live in Rosemount, MN, with our two children, Kathryn and Joshua. I have had varying roles in Children’s Ministries over the past 15 years including experiences with infants up through 6th grade. As I have served children and their families I have had the privilege of working on teams with youth and adults who choose to use their gifts serving Christ and His church. Before becoming more involved in paid ministry positions I was a teacher in early childhood and elementary classroom settings. I have completed my Masters degree in Christian Education at Bethel Seminary, graduating in May 2011. Joy, Kathryn, Joshua and I have been attending SSEFC since June 2009. We are grateful to God for His direction and provision as He leads South Suburban where He desires us to go.

PENNY VOXLAND — Worship Director
I was raised in Iowa, and moved to Minnesota in 1983. I graduated from Northwestern College in St Paul, MN in 1986, receiving a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Psychology and minor in Music. I served in Worship Ministry for over 15 years in various lay capacities and as Deacon of Worship at CrossPoint Church in Bloomington, MN prior to coming to SSEFC. We have attended SSEFC since September 2005, and I have served on staff since January 2009. My husband Wade and I have two sons, Evan and Eric.

JACQUE FINLEY — Office Manager
I was born in South Dakota and moved to Minnesota in 1975. I now consider myself a Minnesotan! I have been attending South Suburban with my children since 1991, and started working at the church in February, 2002. Stop by and visit me any time during the week; I always have a supply of chocolate ready for you on my desk!

SARAH HASTINGS — Communications Coordinator
I grew up in Eagan, MN and began attending South Suburban as a young child. I graduated from Bethany Academy in 2004, and went on to Northwestern College in Roseville for one year. I transferred to Biola University in Los Angeles, studying Film/Television/Radio emphasizing in Production. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008 from Biola and continue filmmaking/videography on the side. I love working for South Suburban and using my talents in writing and visual communications.

SANDY DAHLEN — Nursery Coordinator
I was born and raised in Minneapolis and have lived in Minnesota nearly all of my life, with brief stays in Thailand and Monterey, California, while my husband was in the Army. I am a graduate of Bemidji State College with a degree in Social Work. My husband Bill and I have two handsome sons, two lovely daughters-in-law, and seven of the most wonderful grandchildren in the whole world! We have been attending SSEFC regularly since the Spring of 2006.

JOHN JOHNSON — Facility Manager
I was born in Iowa and lived on a farm until high school graduation. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Business and Accounting. I was employed by the Federal Reserve System for 41 years and worked in the Mpls. Office, was Branch Manager of the Helena Federal Reserve Branch two times and was Executive Vice President of the Philadelphia FRB. After retirement from banking I had my own business for several years doing remodeling and repair, including supervision of the car wash at Andy's in Apple Valley. I have been happily married to Sandra for 48 years, have 3 children and 8 living grandchildren. I have been Facility Manager at SSEFC for over 4 years.
